About SHWire
SHWire (Schwering & Hasse Elektrodraht GmbH) develops and produces enameled winding wires made of copper and aluminium at its production site in Lügde. The product range includes round enameled wires with diameters from 0.050 mm to 4.500 mm, flat wires with cross-sections from 1.5 mm² to 100 mm², solderable enameled wires, highly heat-resistant wires, self-bonding wires, low-friction optimized wires as well as bare wires, round and flat. In addition, wires are served and taped, particularly for transformer and generator applications. Manufacturing includes wire drawing and enameling with 100 % inline testing (electrical, optical, geometrical) and patented HFZ high-voltage fault-count testing. Customer industries include e-mobility, automotive, drive technology, energy transmission, renewable energies as well as white goods and powertools. Founded in 1858, the family business in its fifth generation employs around 230 staff, has operated under the SynFlex Group name since 2018 and runs the SynLab®, a testing laboratory accredited to UL 1446.

Enameling/insulation
Highly heat-resistant enamels up to thermal class N and above, low-friction optimized functional layers (SHGlide) as well as polyamide-based self-bonding enamel.
Self-bonding wire (SH Bond®)
Adhesive layer activated by heat or solvent, which eliminates the need for impregnating agents and stabilizes windings.
Bare wire (SH Bare®)
Non-enameled round and flat wire made of copper and aluminium.

Quality
All quality-relevant process and manufacturing parameters are fully automatically recorded, documented and stored throughout the entire production process; in case of deviations the spool is automatically blocked and routed out. The patented HFZ testing measures insulation fluctuations non-destructively along the entire production path, complemented by the SynLab® testing laboratory with thermal, mechanical, chemical and electrical tests according to UL 1446 and DIN EN 60851.
