About Scientific Bioprocessing
Scientific Bioprocessing Inc. (sbi), a subsidiary of Scientific Industries, Inc., develops and markets sensor technology and software for digital bioprocess development. The core product is the DOTS Platform ('Digitally Simplified Bioprocessing'): miniaturized smart sensors such as the Cell Growth Quantifier (CGQ) for non-invasive biomass measurement via backscatter, the Multiparameter Sensor (MPS) for DO, pH and fluorescence, optical DO Sensor Pills, the Liquid Injection System (LIS) for automated biomass-based fed-batch feeding, as well as the CGQ BioR biomass sensor and Flow Cells for pH and DO measurement in bioreactor flow loops. The systems are used for microbial fermentations and mammalian cell cultures in shake flasks and bioreactors and are controlled via the DOTS software with data acquisition and calibration (e.g. online OD600). Customers come from industry and academia, including Clariant, Bond Pet Foods as well as universities such as TU Wien, TU Dresden and RWTH Aachen. Locations are in Wilmington (DE) and Pittsburgh (PA) in the USA and in Baesweiler (SBI Europe, represented by aquila biolabs GmbH). The offering is complemented by installation, training and an Application Science Service for data analysis.
