About SciMo
SciMo – Elektrische Hochleistungsantriebe GmbH, based in Karlsruhe, develops and manufactures high-performance electric motors and generators for demanding applications. The portfolio includes motors with power ratings from 20 kW to 1,000 kW, speeds up to 46,000 rpm and peak power densities above 17 kW/kg with efficiencies exceeding 97%. In addition, the company offers customized inverter solutions with power outputs up to 500 kW and currents up to 1,200 ARMS as well as direct drives with an inverter integrated in the motor housing for air or water cooling. Manufacturing is based on a fully automated winding technology with copper fill factors above 70%. The products are used in motorsport, aviation, automotive and test bench technology, including generators for electric eSTOL flight applications. Founded in 2017, the company operates under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system and started small-series production of the SY43 in 2020.
