About SEEN Safety
SEEN Safety (Seen Safety Limited) is a New Zealand industrial safety technology company based in Wellington. The company develops and sells the SEEN Safety System for pedestrian detection (Pedestrian Proximity Detection) on industrial trucks and heavy mobile machinery. The core product is the IRIS 860 sensor (SI-120), an active infrared laser (Class 1 LIDAR, eye-safe) that detects retroreflective tape on high-visibility protective clothing – without electronic tags. Upon detection, a 94-dB alarm signal warns drivers and pedestrians; the system is complemented by the IRIS-i IoT camera and the AI-powered analytics platform SEEN Insight with image/video evidence and remote configuration. Since the introduction of the IRIS 860 in 2019, over 10,000 installations have been created in more than 20 countries with over 140 million detections. Industries include warehouses and distribution, manufacturing, logistics, ports, food, waste management and forest products. The products are developed at the New Zealand head office and manufactured by an ISO-9001-certified electronics manufacturer in Thailand.
