Seitner & Bittmann GesmbH is an electrical wholesaler based in Graz, specialising in the distribution of electrical installation materials. Its product range includes, among other things, lamps, switches, VE flush-mounted devices, plugs and cables. In addition, the company offers a procurement service: on request, the team researches specific items by manufacturer, item description and technical specifications; the product range is also available via the webshop. Deliveries are made within 24 hours free of charge to Styria, southern Burgenland, Carinthia and East Tyrol. Founded in 1924, the company is run in its fourth generation by the Bittmann family and is 100 % family-owned. In addition to its headquarters on Kossgasse in Graz, Seitner & Bittmann maintains a second location in Klagenfurt, which resulted from the acquisition of the electrical wholesaler Fekete.

Company history

1. 1924

   The company Ing. Seitner & Bittmann OHG is registered in the commercial register; the owners are Ing. Franz Seitner and Ing. Franz Bittmann.

2. 1930

   Ing. Franz Bittmann becomes the sole owner of the company.

3. 1942

   Move to larger premises at Einspinnergasse 2 in Graz.

4. 1945

   After the end of the war, good contacts with the electrical industry enable the procurement of goods; Ing. Gerhard Bittmann joins the company.

5. 1955

   Ing. Gerhard Bittmann becomes a partner.

6. 1972

   Occupation of the new location at Kossgasse 21 in Graz.

7. 1976

   Ing. Gerhard Bittmann becomes President of the Union of European Electrical Wholesalers.

8. 1978

   Acquisition of the electrical wholesaler Fekete in Klagenfurt.

9. 1980

   Benedikt Bittmann joins the company.

10. 1990

    Opening of the new location in Klagenfurt; Benedikt Bittmann becomes Managing Director.

11. 1999

    75th anniversary; the company is 100 % owned by the Bittmann family.

12. 2000

    From 2000 to 2005, Benedikt Bittmann is a member of the Styrian State Parliament and from 2008 to 2020 Vice President of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce.

13. 2024

    100th anniversary; the company has grown strongly in recent years.
