About sema GmbH
sema Gesellschaft für Innovationen mbH was founded in 1998 in Wolfen and has been based since 2000 in Coswig (Anhalt) on a 6000 m² industrial site. The company develops and produces functional films, laminated glass solutions and specialty chemicals for protection against UV and NIR radiation. The product range includes self-adhesive, transparent UVA solar protection films (semaSORB DK400), bird protection films (PROBIRD DK400), PVB laminating films (FC400) as well as laminated and insulating glass K410 with radiation protection up to 410 nm, manufactured by wet bonding or laminating processes. In addition, UV and NIR absorbers, high-refractive-index acrylates, VCI corrosion protection films and additives for coatings are synthesized. Custom syntheses are performed in quantity ranges from 1 g to 1000 kg, including oxidations, diazotizations, vacuum distillation and crystallization. In-house testing services include artificial ageing tests with xenon irradiation (1000–4000 h), spectral measurements up to 2500 nm and luminescence measurements. Customers are found in glass architecture, museums and heritage conservation, agriculture, the packaging industry, forensic science as well as research and teaching.
