About Sensodrive

Sensodrive GmbH is a mechatronics company founded in 2003 as a spin-off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR), headquartered in Weßling near Munich. The company develops and manufactures patented torque sensors for robotic drives, ready-to-install torque-controlled complete drives (SensoJoint/SensoJoint safe), and force-feedback products for automotive simulators (SensoWheel, SensoPedals, SensoKnob, SensoButton). The value chain ranges from design and prototype development through control and software engineering to semi-automated series assembly of medium and high volumes – entirely at the Weßling site. Customers include manufacturers of cobots and medical robots, the automotive industry, and research institutions; reference projects include DLR, BMW Group, the World Food Programme, and Wälischmiller Engineering. Since 2025, the SensoJoint safe drives have been TÜV safety-certified as the world's first torque-controlled robotic drives.
