About Sepsiscan
Sepsiscan is a medical technology company and university spinoff founded in 2023 with an exclusive IP license. It develops a software-controlled, AI-based bedside device for multimodal imaging (hyperspectral and thermography imaging) that assesses blood microcirculation non-invasively, in real time and at the patient's bedside. The system maps the temperature distribution, visually displays blood oxygen deficiency and detects early sepsis signs such as mottling, supporting intensive care units in managing sepsis treatment. Based on university research, two prototypes have been tested on more than 100 patients; initial international patient demonstrations took place at Hôpital Bicêtre (France). Reference letters have been provided, among others, by Riga East Clinical University Hospital, Riga Stradins University and the Latvian Association of Anaesthesiology and Reanimatology. Locations are in Riga (Latvia), Liverpool (United Kingdom, international headquarters since 2026) and Mannheim (Germany).
