About SERAPLANT

SERAPLANT GmbH operates a process in Haldensleben for recovering phosphate from sewage sludge ash, which is protected by European Patent EP3293165. From the recovered phosphate fraction, the company produces granulated multi-nutrient fertilizers for agriculture, horticulture and forestry. The patent-pending SERAPLANT process is intended to make lost nutrients usable, thereby increasing phosphorus efficiency in agriculture and conserving valuable raw material resources. The process already meets the legal requirements that will, from 2029, prescribe the recovery of phosphorus from municipal sewage sludge. After a restructuring under an insolvency plan and the lifting of the insolvency at the turn of 2024/2025, production resumed in early 2025; output of 500 to 1,000 tonnes of fertilizer per month is planned. The current focus is on optimizing plant and process technology.
