About SHB Schotterwerke Hohenlohe-Bauland
SHB Schotterwerke Hohenlohe-Bauland GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1991/92 as a merger of 12 quarries from the Hohenlohe-Bauland region. Shortly after its founding, active rock extraction was discontinued at four plants; raw material extraction and further processing currently take place at eight quarries. As a medium-sized company in the non-metallic minerals industry, it is engaged in the production and distribution of road construction materials and concrete aggregates made from shell limestone. As a founding member of QRB Qualitätssicherungssystem Recycling-Baustoffe Baden-Württemberg e. V., SHB also offers quality-assured RC recycled building materials at its locations. Natural stone wall blocks made of shell limestone are produced and sold for landscaping and garden construction. The raw materials are extracted from the shell limestone layers; the company is also committed to the paleontology of the Triassic period and is a co-founder of the Friedrich von Alberti Foundation.
