About Shibaura Electronics
Shibaura Electronics was founded in 1953 as a manufacturer of measuring and control thermistors and today produces thermistor elements as well as temperature and humidity sensors based on them, temperature controllers, thermometers and anemometers. The measuring range of the products covers temperatures from -50 °C to +1000 °C. In addition to standard products, the company develops and assembles custom sensor assemblies, including fluoroplastic processing, PVC insulation and resin potting. Manufacturing takes place at five Japanese production plants with a mother-factory function for manufacturing technology and new products as well as at three mass-production sites in Thailand and China; test centers in Japan carry out quality assurance and design verification tests. Customers include, among others, the automotive industry (engines, inverters, batteries, exhaust technology), manufacturers of household and office appliances, building and industrial technology as well as medical technology. The headquarters is located in Saitama (Japan); through sales offices in Europe, Asia and North America, including Shibaura Electronics Europe GmbH in Munich, customers are supplied worldwide.
