Silgan Closures GmbH, headquartered in Munich (Riesstraße 16), is part of Silgan White Cap and thus of the US group Silgan Holdings Inc., a manufacturer of rigid packaging with net sales of approx. USD 5.68 billion (2021) and 100 production sites in North and South America, Europe and Asia. The company manufactures metal and plastic closures – in particular the Original Twist-Off® and PT (Press-On Twist-Off) closures as well as PVC-free variants – for glass and plastic containers in diameters of 27 to 100 mm (metal) or 28 to 55 mm (plastic). In addition to closure manufacturing, Silgan offers a total solution ('Total System Solution'): sealing machines (White Cap 100 to 500-1 for 8 to 500 jars/min), closure feeding systems (Closure Feeds), the in-house developed Vapour-Vacuum® steam-vacuum system as well as non-contact vacuum testing (Dud Detector). This is complemented by technical customer service (CTS) with maintenance, genuine spare parts and sealer training, as well as food technology consulting (FTS). Customer industries are food and beverage packaging, including baby food, jam, canned goods, dairy products, fish and meat, still beverages and water.
