About SiLOU Wines

SiLOU Wines is a young wine estate on Lake Biel in Twann, in the canton of Bern. Since 2021, the operators have been producing their own wines there, pursuing a near-natural production approach. The work covers the entire annual cycle of viticulture: vine pruning in the winter months, maintenance of the vineyards with cover crops such as alfalfa as a nitrogen fixer, hand harvesting of the grapes, pressing and vinification of the wines in the basement of the operating building. In addition to wine production, Treberwurst (brewers' grain sausage) and other regional products are offered. Direct sales take place via an online shop as well as through the Wy-Stube at Dorfgasse 26 in Twann, which is open from May to October on Saturdays from 13 to 17; there, wines are sold, orders are collected, and tastings and apéritifs are held by appointment.
