About siloxene
siloxene AG is a chemical company founded in 2020 as a spin-off from Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) and headquartered in Brüttisellen near Zurich. The company develops and markets a proprietary platform of hybrid inorganic-organic polymer silanes (Q-T-polysiloxanes) in which T-functional silanes are grafted onto a dendritic Q-type ethyl silicate backbone. The products are used as additives, enablers and hybrid co-resins and are combined with commercially available polymer resins such as epoxy, STP, acrylate or isocyanate. Applications include coatings, adhesives and sealants, composites, surface pretreatments, fiber sizings as well as cement and mineral hydrophobization. The materials are PFAS-free, nano-free, low in VOCs and generally silicone-free. In addition to standard products, siloxene offers co-development with agile screening, formulation support, sample provision and guidance in test planning and scale-up.
