Silver Atena at a Glance
Silver Atena GmbH is a German product developer and supplier of safety-critical electronic systems, control units (ECUs) and power electronics. Founded in 1998 as a joint venture between MTU Aero Engines and Brunel International and headquartered in Munich, the company supports projects along the entire lifecycle – from system architecture through hardware and embedded software development, functional safety (ISO 26262, DO-178C/DO-254) and cyber security to testing, qualification, industrialisation and series production. Developments include FADEC engine controllers, flight control computers, DC/DC converters and traction inverters for high-voltage systems (400–800 V, over 100 kW) with SiC- and GaN-based power semiconductors, active suspension systems as well as robust displays and control devices for defence. Series production of electronic control units takes place under IATF 16949 at the production sites in Dachau and Karlsfeld on flexible assembly lines with batch sizes from 1 (prototype) to 100,000 units per year. Around 505 employees work at the development sites in Munich, Augsburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Landshut and Stuttgart serving customers from automotive & e-mobility, aerospace, defence, renewable energies and industry. Approximately 85% of revenue comes from sustainable projects in electromobility, fuel cells and wind energy.
