About SIPRO® STEEL SOLUTIONS

SIPRO® STEEL SOLUTIONS is a family-run Swiss steel trading group headquartered in Schlieren (ZH). The group sources and distributes high-quality steel products mainly from Italian, but also German, steel producers, including bar steel, wire rod, reinforcing steel, semi-finished products, crude steel, mold steel, reinforcement mats and plates as well as forged bar steel and quality and tool steels. Its core task is the global distribution and logistical handling of these products, complemented by tailor-made import/export trading transactions, trade finance services, sea freight, chartering, transport insurance, track & trace and EDI data exchange. SIPRO® International AG, founded in 2023 in Cham, handles worldwide trading and transport. Customers include industries such as construction, toolmaking, automotive and shipbuilding in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the D/A/CH region, the Benelux countries and worldwide. The group works within a long-standing network with partners such as the AFV Beltrame Group, Acciaierie Venete and the Lech Stahlwerke.

History

1. 1968

   Foundation of Baclu S.A. in Zurich (from 1982 SIPRO Siderprodukte AG), the group's first sales company

2. 1971

   Foundation of Hüttenprodukte AG in Zurich for the trading of flat products

3. 1972

   First business in the flat steel sector with Japanese plates

4. 1978

   Foundation of Siderprodukte AG in Zurich for the distribution of steel long products; start of cooperation with the Beltrame steel mill group, Vicenza (IT)

5. 1982

   Foundation of SIPRO Siderprodukte AG and SIPRO Beltrame AG (Zollikon) for sales in Switzerland and Liechtenstein

6. 1983

   Delivery of profile steels with quality and tool steels from Italian steel mills to the D/A/CH region

7. 1986

   Start of cooperation with WSG Spedition GmbH as well as the steel mills Acciaierie Venete SpA (IT) and Lech Stahlwerke (DE)
