SITRAPLAS GmbH is a compounder of technical polymers headquartered in Bünde, in East Westphalia. The company develops and manufactures custom plastic compounds based on various base polymers such as PC, PC+ABS, ABS, ASA, PBT, PMMA, SAN and polyolefins as well as their blends, modified to customer-specific requirements — including impact resistance, sliding friction optimization, flame retardancy, scratch resistance, electrical conductivity and defined optical properties such as light diffusion or light blocking. Compounding takes place on flexible compounding lines with modular pelletizing processes (strand, underwater and dry-cut pelletizing), tight-mesh quality control and precise metal detection. In the company's own technical center with three laboratory extruders including a Coperion ZSK26Mc18, product and process development is carried out with scale-up capability up to industrial production; the company also offers material testing, analytics, coloring, PCF calculation and filament extrusion (SITRAFIL). With an annual capacity of over 4.100 tonnes, SITRAPLAS supplies customers in the automotive, household appliance, electrical and electronics, lighting, leisure and medical technology industries from its Bünde site as well as worldwide via distribution partners.
