About the SKB Group

The SKB Group is a family-owned cable group headquartered in Schwechat near Vienna. The group's companies develop, produce and distribute cables and wires for power supply, telecommunications, railway engineering, electrical engineering and industry. A key focus is on low- and medium-voltage cables in the range of 1 to 30 kV; in addition, safety cables, highly flexible industrial cabling, solar and telecommunications cables as well as customer-specific cable products are manufactured. Copper and aluminium are used as conductor materials, and insulation and sheathing materials include PVC, rubber, silicone, PUR and halogen-free plastics. The group was formed in 2008 from the Schwechater Kabelwerke (founded in 1891) and comprises production sites in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine as well as sales companies. Products of the group can be found, among other places, in the Blanka tunnel complex, in the Dukovany nuclear power plant and in the metro systems of Vienna and Prague.
