Switchgear manufacturing for industry, power plants and infrastructure
SKS Elektroanlagenbau GmbH manufactures in Fohnsdorf type-tested low- and medium-voltage switchgear up to 36 kV, walk-in and compact transformer substations, static excitation systems (THYRIPOL/SES) as well as metering panels and cable assemblies for low and medium voltage. In its own metalworking shop, panels and cells are fabricated from sheet steel; in the in-house copper workshop, copper busbars and contact systems are produced in all standard cross-sections. Every switchgear assembly passes through the in-house testing field with high-voltage tests up to 100 kV, high-current tests, impulse voltage tests up to 170 kV and partial discharge measurements according to IEC 60270. The company works in licensed partnership with Siemens AG and Siemens Energy, among other things on furnace switchgear for steel and aluminium plants. Customers come from power plants, the steel and aluminium industry, chemicals and paper, semiconductor manufacturing, infrastructure as well as plant engineering and EPC. With around 4,000 m² of production space including assembly, commissioning and Europe-wide service, SKS covers projects from new build to retrofit.
