About Smart United

Smart United GmbH, headquartered in Grünwald near Munich, develops and distributes UV-C-LED systems for chemical-free indoor air hygiene. The patented core technology, developed in Germany, uses highly focused UV-C-LED light for air disinfection throughout the entire room and replaces conventional mercury-based tube systems as well as HEPA filters. Product development and testing are carried out in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). The systems are manufactured in Europe, can be customized and are available worldwide; the patented core technology is also offered as an OEM component. Customers include hospitals, clinics, critical infrastructure facilities, modern workplaces as well as the tourism and government sectors. The company is part of Smart United Holding GmbH and is led by founder Reiner Prohaska.

The efficacy of the UV-C-LED systems has been verified by independent institutes (Technical University of Munich, LMU Munich); in LMU laboratory tests, the germ load in the entire room was reduced by 99.8%.
