About SMi Kunststofftechnik
SMi Steinbiß & Mittner Kunststofftechnik is a plastics processor specialised in injection moulding with around 30 years of experience in the development and series production of plastic parts. The company processes nearly all thermoplastics, including polyamide-6, polysulfone and fibre-reinforced plastics, using processes such as 1K and multi-component injection moulding (rotary table and transfer technique, core-back process), insert technique as well as gas pressure techniques (GHD, GND, GID). The range of services includes plastics-compatible product development with rheological simulations, project management for injection moulding tools up to series maturity, toolmaking including the takeover and optimisation of existing tools, automated surface finishing such as painting and selective chrome plating, as well as assembly of complete modules. Customers come from automotive interior (including BMW, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, VW, Rolls-Royce), defence technology (including Heckler & Koch, Dynamit Nobel) and medical technology (including Aesculap). Production is accompanied by quality assurance before, during and after production.
