About SMR Sondermaschinen GmbH
SMR Sondermaschinen GmbH develops and manufactures customer-specific special-purpose machines, assembly systems, conveyor systems, rotary indexing machines and testing machines at its site in Wutha-Farnroda, Thuringia. The company was founded in 1991 on the premises of the former Ruhla clockworks and today employs around 30 staff. Its range of services covers the entire value chain from feasibility studies through planning and design to manufacturing, assembly, wiring and commissioning of the systems. Processes applied include laser welding, ultrasonic welding, soldering, bonding and dispensing as well as electronic functional and leak testing. The systems are built for customers from the automotive, medical technology, electrical engineering and packaging industries. Since 2022, SMR has been a system partner for HORST industrial robots from fruitcore robotics. The company is part of the family-owned MACK Group.
