About SOLON

SOLON is a manufacturer of solar modules and solar cells, founded in 1996 in Berlin as Solon AG für Solartechnik and in 1998 the first publicly listed solar technology company in Germany. After insolvency in 2011 and acquisition by Microsol International LL FZE, the company was re-established in 2012 as SOLON Energy GmbH; the group later moved its headquarters to the United Arab Emirates. Production of solar modules (4 production lines) and solar cells (2 production lines) takes place today in Fujairah (UAE) based on solar silicon. Sales for Northern Europe are handled through the SOLON S.p.A. branch office Germany in Berlin, and for Southern Europe through Carmignano di Brenta (Padua) in Italy. In addition to the module business, the company offers project development of utility-scale solar power plants, energy storage systems as well as operation & maintenance; a historical focus was on solar installations on federal government buildings in Berlin, including the Office of the Federal President.
