The Company
Somatec Metallverarbeitung GmbH was founded in 1990 in Sonneberg and specialises in machining of single parts and small series. The company manufactures fixtures, gauges and special machines as well as custom machine parts for industrial production. The machine fleet comprises three CNC machining centres (Mikron VCP 1000 Duro, HURCO VMX 30t and VMX 24i), CNC universal lathes from DMG as well as surface and cylindrical grinding machines. In addition, welding work using the A, E, MAG and WIG processes as well as sheet metal working with cutting, bending and plasma cutting are offered. On request, Somatec also takes on design and development, including the preparation of pneumatic diagrams and design documentation, which are coordinated jointly with the customer. Eight qualified employees serve customers from industry and mechanical engineering at the Friedensstraße site in Sonneberg, Thuringia.
