About Somfy
Somfy is a French manufacturer of drive and control technology for solar shading and building opening systems. The company was founded in 1969 in Cluses (France) as Société d'Outillage et du Mécanique du Faucigny and is part of the Groupe Somfy. The portfolio includes radio-based and wired motorization and control solutions for roller shutters, awnings, blinds, roller blinds, curtains, gates and garage doors as well as roof and façade windows. In addition, Somfy offers smart home components such as the TaHoma hub, sensors, cameras and heating thermostats, which can be controlled via app. According to its own figures, Somfy has produced 192 million motors and is represented with subsidiaries in 58 or 59 countries respectively. The German Somfy GmbH in Rottenburg am Neckar is the largest subsidiary of the group.
