About SOMMER

The SOMMER GmbH is a German long-established company in vehicle manufacturing and a producer of trailers, bodies, and conversions for road transport. The product portfolio includes box and platform bodies, swap systems, container chassis, chassis for tanker bodies, and timber and poultry transporters. A key focus is on bodies and conversions for parcel delivery vehicles in the CEP industry, including box bodies, integral boxes, shelving conversions, and lightweight box bodies for vans from 3.5 to 7.0 tonnes. Manufacturing is carried out as both one-off production and series production, including sandwich construction with plastic panels, as well as plywood and aluminium construction; sheet metal working with a laser system and press brake takes place at the Polish plant. As a certified body manufacturer, the SOMMER Group employs around 250 staff at two sites in Germany and Poland. The headquarters with production and administration is located in Laucha an der Unstrut in Saxony-Anhalt, with a further production plant in Brzeznio, Poland.
