About Sonderegger Engineering
Sonderegger Engineering AG, based in Schaffhausen, develops and manufactures special machines for the medical and pharmaceutical industries, with a focus on the production of surgical suture materials. Founded in 1998 by Dr. Marcel Sonderegger, the family-run company introduced the first heat-stiffening thread cutting machines to the world market. The product lines include the SutureCutter (Fibapic) thread cutting machine for thermal stiffening and four-blade precision cutting of sutures, the PledgetCutter punching device for the production of pledgets for cardiac surgery, and automated disassembly systems for complex medical devices (MedTech Disassembly). In addition, the company offers ion cleaning in the cleanroom (TurboCleaner), engineering for special applications, safety analyses and machine conformity assessments, as well as trading in SMC pneumatic products.
