About us

Sonnentag Schweißkonstruktionen GmbH is a traditional company founded in 1842 in Schwäbisch Gmünd-Straßdorf, today managed by Hans-Peter Sonnentag in the fifth generation. On around 2,000 m² of production space in four production halls, 25 employees work on special welded constructions with individual weights of up to 30 tonnes. The production range covers plant and mechanical engineering (steel containers, machine base frames, conveyor system technology, plant enclosures, silo steel construction, scaffolding structures), foundry technology such as mould boxes and melting cylinders, formwork construction, elevator construction and custom-made products. Process chain: plasma cutting (sheet format 1.5 × 3 m), bending up to 3 m, rolling up to Ø 4000 mm, drilling, sawing, welding as well as priming and painting work. Materials are structural steel S235 and S355 as well as stainless steel. Customers come from plant engineering, mechanical engineering, foundry technology, formwork construction, elevator construction and timber construction, including NOE-Schaltechnik, Linde Material Handling, Allgaier and Maschinenfabrik Alfing Kessler. The company is certified according to DIN EN 1090 EXC2 and DIN EN ISO 3834-3.
