Sontheimer Elektro-Schaltgeräte GmbH is a family-owned company based in Schwabach that has been developing and manufacturing switchgear entirely in Germany since 1946. The product portfolio includes cam switches for currents from 10 to 1,600 A as well as load disconnect switches of the LO, LT and LX series, including versions to UL 489 for the North American market. The foundation is a switch modular system that allows switches to be configured individually – even as custom-made products from a quantity of 1. The entire value chain from development through design to assembly takes place at two plants in Schwabach; all plastic parts are produced in-house. More than 15,000 different active switch types are manufactured every year. The products are used worldwide in industries such as mechanical engineering, industry, infrastructure and renewable energies.

Quality and Safety
Before delivery, every switch is tested electrically and visually (100% inspections). The products are designed to the international switch standards IEC 60947, UL 508, CSA and CCC as well as UL 489, and the company maintains a QM system according to ISO 9001.
