About SOPIL
SOPIL is a family-run company founded in 1961, headquartered in Pirey near Besançon (Doubs, France). Originally established as a toolmaking firm, the company has specialized in the technical stamping (découpage) of small metal parts in strip and bulk form – made from copper, brass and bronze as well as steel and stainless steel, in thicknesses from 0.08 to 6 mm. Across 15,000 m² of production halls, 37 production lines operate with presses ranging from 25 to 315 tonnes; annual capacity is around 600 million parts with over 1,600 active references. Value creation is fully integrated: design and manufacture of progressive and compound dies in-house, joining processes such as contacting, riveting, clinching, resistance and induction soldering as well as silver/tin soldering, plus in-line thread cutting and in-press assembly. Customer industries include automotive, electrical engineering, telecommunications, rail, aerospace, medical technology and household appliances. SOPIL generates 46% of its revenue in export business.

Materials & Processes
Copper
For current-carrying contact and connector components in technical stamping.
Brass
Copper alloy for precisely stamped contacts and small parts.
Bronze
For high-load, elastic contact elements in connector technology.
Steel
Ferrous metal for structural and functional parts in thicknesses from 0.08 to 6 mm.
Stainless steel
For corrosion-resistant, precise stamped parts in demanding environments.
Technical stamping (découpage)
Strip and bulk parts made from copper and iron alloys with tight tolerances and high cycle rates.
Joining processes
Contacting (riveting/soldering), clinching, interlocking, riveting, resistance and induction soldering, silver/tin soldering, crimping and in-press assembly to functionalize the parts.
Toolmaking
Design, manufacture and maintenance of progressive and compound dies including punches, dies, guides and ejectors in-house.
