Plant engineering for the entire food process

Sorgo Anlagenbau GmbH is a family business founded in 1978, now run by the third generation, based in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. The company develops, designs and manufactures systems for smoking, cooking, roasting and baking, intensive cooling, pasteurizing, ripening, fermenting and drying – from the plug-and-play single-trolley system to fully automated industrial production lines with automatic trolley transport (Konti systems). The value chain includes process engineering, mechanical engineering, automation with the SCS X1 process control system, process documentation (SORGO INSPECT, VisuNet), remote control as well as transport, installation and commissioning. System components such as fan wheels, heating registers and heat exchangers are manufactured in-house, mostly from stainless steel 1.4301, 1.4571 and 1.4876. Customers come from meat and sausage products, poultry, fish, cheese, plant-based, pet food, snacks as well as fruit, vegetables and spices – from craft businesses to 24/7 industry operations. More than 7,500 systems have been delivered to over 40 countries; the company also trades in factory-renovated used systems with a new warranty.

Materials & Processes

1.4301

Stainless steel 1.4301 (V2A)

Outer shell, cooling registers, nozzles and heating registers; corrosion-resistant and easy to clean.

1.4571

Stainless steel 1.4571 (V4A)

Interior and inner floor of the systems for hygienic requirements in the food process.

1.4876

Chrome-nickel steel 1.4876

For electric heating registers and heat-resistant heat exchangers in the upper section of the systems.

KAL

Cold smoking

Precisely controlled temperature, humidity and air movement for product and smoke character.

HEI

Hot smoking

Browning, drying, smoking and cooking with precise air guidance; smoke generators as friction, smoldering, steam or liquid smoke systems.

INT

Intensive cooling

Cold air, cooling shower and optionally micro-fine mist in counterflow principle for rapid cooling with low weight loss.

PAS

Pasteurizing & pressure cooking

Processes under back pressure for germ reduction on the product surface with gentle treatment of product and packaging.

CIP

CIP cleaning

Cleaning station cleans several connected systems one after another in defined sequences.
