About SpanSet Axzion
SpanSet Axzion GmbH was founded in 1991 in Langenfeld and is part of the internationally active SpanSet Group. The company specialises in the development, design and manufacture of customised lifting equipment such as spreader beams, coil hooks, grabs, cargo forks, turning rolls and clamps, including special solutions for the transport and assembly of wind turbines and other large components. Production uses tested fine-grain and thermomechanically rolled steels as well as austenitic stainless steels; the welded steel structures are manufactured in accordance with DIN EN 1090-2 up to execution class EXC 3. The 7-point programme Quality Seven integrates consulting, design with 3D-CAD and FEM, material selection, manufacturing, drive and control technology, testing and service from a single source. The offering includes in-house test rigs with 600 t and 3,000 t test capacity, load tests in accordance with DIN EN 13155:2026, recurring inspections in accordance with DGUV regulations, as well as repair, maintenance, training and a worldwide 24/7 service. In addition to its headquarters in Langenfeld, the company operates production and service sites in Neustrelitz and Großefehn as well as technical sales and design in Übach-Palenberg.

Materials and Processes
Fine-grain structural steels (thermomechanically rolled TM steels)
Heavy plates with high strength and toughness values and good weldability for highly stressed lifting equipment.
Austenitic stainless steels (Ni content ≥ 2.5%)
Non-magnetic stainless steels with high resistance to aggressive media and high oxidation resistance.
Tested steels in blasted quality
Sourced mainly from Arcelor, UnionStahl, ThyssenKrupp and Carl Spaeter for the processing of welded steel structures.
Plastic components (SpanSet secutex)
Impact protection and wear elements to protect the material, an integral component of the delivered lifting equipment.
Hydraulic drives and control technology
In-house production of large hydraulic lifting cylinders and redundant offshore drives for fault-tolerant lifting systems.
Electromechanical drives and controls
Redundantly designed generators and modular controls for intelligent lifting equipment, assembled by in-house electrical technicians.
