Spectra Additive GmbH, based in Fridolfing (Bavaria), specializes in additively manufactured, transparent eyewear frames. The eyewear designs are implemented using industrial DLP 3D printing technology in cooperation with GENERA Printer GmbH as system supplier as well as established material partners. The process enables transparent frames in more than 40 color tones with fine gradations in saturation and hue – from colorless to dark material. Customers include eyewear labels as well as opticians: order quantities range from one-offs and individual samples to series production. In addition, the company offers surface finishing methods to deliver frames in the desired look. The founders Florian Fischer, longtime head of a competence center for additive manufacturing with a design focus, and Andreas Berkau, a pioneer of additive manufacturing and co-founder of one of the first international full-service providers in 3D printing, bundle this experience in the GmbH.
