SPIE ESCAD Austria GmbH in Wels emerged from Softwerk Automation GmbH, founded in 1990 and specialised in the development and integration of automated systems and software solutions. In 2019, ESCAD Austria acquired an interest in the company, and in 2020 it was fully integrated into the ESCAD Group. Effective 01.01.2021, Softwerk Automation and other ESCAD companies became part of the ROBUR Industry Service Group; since 2024 the company has operated as SPIE ESCAD Austria GmbH. Its portfolio covers engineering from idea to series production, system integration, plant engineering, control cabinet construction (UL508A), collaborative lightweight robotics (Universal Robots, Doosan), intralogistics with AGV/AGVS (Mobile Industrial Robots, Global AGV, ROEQ) as well as repairs in industrial electronics in cooperation with the UNIS Group. Through its stake in KMS-Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH, the company also has access to 3D printing technology. Customers come primarily from industrial automation, with delivery to the DACH region.
