About the Sprehe Group

Sprehe Geflügel- und Tiefkühlfeinkost Handels GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1987 and bundles its activities in Cappeln (Lower Saxony). As a full-range supplier, the group produces fresh and frozen meat and poultry products, meat and sausage products, and canned goods at 14 locations in Germany. The value chain includes its own slaughtering and cutting operations (poultry and pork), processing plants for frozen delicacies, fresh products and convenience items, as well as packaging and logistics with its own vehicle fleet. Chickens (also in organic quality since 2022/2023), turkey, goose and pork are processed. The products are manufactured under eight own brands (including Gräfendorfer, Wernke, Daut, Astenhof, Bernard Matthews) as well as private labels for retail partners. In-house food laboratories support quality assurance; customers come from food retail and gastronomy. The activities are consolidated in Union-Besitz Holding GmbH & Co. KG, based in Cappeln.
