SSC Sägenstahlcenter GmbH, headquartered in Burg near Magdeburg, supplies manufacturers of circular saws, band saws, stone and wood gang saws, and industrial knives with feedstock made of quality flat steel from European producers. The product program comprises hot-rolled medium-wide and hot-rolled wide strip as sheets, coils and discs, cold-rolled strip as bars and rings, and hot-rolled quarto plates in more than 30 steel grades, ranging from carbon steel through alloyed tool steels to high-speed and stainless steels. At the 360,000 m² Burg site, the company's own processing capabilities include slitting to length up to 2,000 mm width and 15,000 mm length, mechanical plate blanks up to 3,000 × 6,000 mm, laser and plasma cutting, and piece-by-piece heat treatment to customer specification. More than 5,000 tonnes of flat steel are permanently in stock; customers can choose between spot business, frame contracts and consignment warehouses. Since 2015 the company has continued the operations of the former ThyssenKrupp saw steel center, whose roots go back to the first steel warehouse founded in 1880 in Remscheid. Supplies are delivered worldwide.
