About Stadtwerke Dorfen

Stadtwerke Dorfen GmbH is the municipal energy and utility service provider for the town of Dorfen in the Erding district and the surrounding region. The company was founded in 1904 and operates the supply of electricity, natural gas, drinking water and local heating. In 2025, drinking water supply amounted to around 535,000 m³ per year for approximately 10,000 inhabitants via its own pipe network. The local heating is generated in a biomass heating plant in Rinning and distributed via insulated pipes to buildings, residential houses, businesses and settlements. In addition, Stadtwerke Dorfen offers fiber-optic internet (FTTH/FTTB), telephone (NGN/IP) and TV, electrical installation, grid operation and grid connection, energy consulting, as well as services relating to e-mobility, generation plants and electricity storage. The company is organized as a GmbH (limited liability company); the headquarters with customer center is located at Haager Str. 31 in Dorfen. As of January 1, 2027, the company will take over the electricity grid of the Gemeindewerke Langenpreising.
