About Stahlhandel Hahn

Stahlhandel Hahn GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1970 by Bernhard and Hedwig Hahn in Borgholzhausen for the production of spacers and has been part of the German steel industry since October 1970. The corporate group comprises Stahlhandel Hahn, Teuto Stahlhandel GmbH & Co. KG, and its own steel reinforcement mat plant Teuto Baustahlmatten GmbH & Co. KG (Teubau) in Bad Essen/Wehrendorf. Products manufactured include steel reinforcement mats (P, Q, R, HS, QS, FS, B, BEC and BS mats as well as custom-cut mats), spacers such as the SDK visibility distance basket and the DTS distance carrier chain, as well as cold-ribbed reinforcing steel in coils and bars. Production capacity is up to 100,000 tonnes of steel processing per year. Teubau is one of the last independent steel reinforcement mat manufacturers in Germany not tied to a steel mill and rolling plant, and was approved in 1980 with the continuous plant number 91. Its products supply the German and international construction industry and reinforce concrete, among other places, in the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, on Sylt and in Curaçao.

History of the Corporate Group

1. 1970

   Foundation of Stahlhandel Hahn by Bernhard and Hedwig Hahn in Borgholzhausen for the production of spacers; part of the German steel industry since October 1970.

2. 1975

   Relocation of the company to Dissen am Teutoburger Wald.

3. 1976

   Foundation of Teuto Stahlhandel GmbH & Co. KG for the national and international market.

4. 1979

   Establishment of the company's own steel reinforcement mat plant Teuto Baustahlmatten GmbH & Co. KG.

5. 1980

   Commissioning of the production facility in Bad Essen/Wehrendorf with rail siding connection and access to the Mittelland Canal; approval of Teubau with continuous plant number 91.

6. 2012

   Transfer of the companies to the next generation; Birgit Hahn-Schlie takes over the management.

7. 2022

   With daughter Laura Schlie, the third generation is active in the family business; planning of another photovoltaic system with approx. 750 kWp to improve the CO2 balance.
