About Stahlwerk Annahütte
Stahlwerk Annahütte Max Aicher GmbH & Co. KG is a steel processing company based in Hammerau near Ainring in the Berchtesgadener Land district, whose origins date back to the year 1537. The plant produces round bar steel in the quality and engineering steel segment with a range of more than 2,500 steel alloys, as well as threaded steel in diameters from 12 to 75 mm and accessories for threaded and tension steel systems under the SAS brand. In the rolling mill, 6-metre-long raw continuous cast blooms are heated in a walking beam furnace and rolled, stretched and further processed into bar steel, threaded steel and tension steel. The bar steels are supplied, among others, to the automotive industry as well as the chain and tool industry, while threaded and tension steels are used in tensioning and reinforcement technology, anchor, formwork and geotechnical engineering, in tunnel construction and in prestressing technology. With around 600 employees and a production capacity of more than 240,000 tonnes of steel per year, the company supplies customers worldwide. The steelworks belongs to the Max Aicher Foundation.
