About Steamergy
Steamergy develops and delivers modular energy systems that generate electricity, heat, steam and cooling from biomass. The system combines a steam engine with a compact molten salt energy storage and also uses wet biomass with a water content of up to 60 % as fuel. The offering is aimed at manufacturing SMEs, sawmills and municipalities with an energy demand from 200 kW that want to build base load supply independent of the grid with up to 80 % lower variable energy costs. The systems are developed and sold at the headquarters in Deggendorf; the modular installation is designed to be possible within one week. According to the company, more than 120 GWh of energy are generated per year and more than 600 tons of CO2 are saved per site. In addition to the Deggendorf location, the company maintains a second site in Stralsund with Steamergy Stralsund GmbH.
