About us
Steinbruch Mellikon AG operates a limestone quarry in Mellikon in the canton of Aargau and, in its present form, has been owned since 1988 by Umbricht Holding AG and Kalt Holding AG. The Jurassic limestone is extracted by loosening blasts; the material is processed in the company's own crushing plants into road gravel, coffin material, ballast and grit in various grain sizes. Design stones are sorted out and split into small wall stones using a splitting plant. In addition to crushed limestone components, the company offers natural stone products for landscaping, road construction and hydraulic engineering, including design stones, hydraulic engineering stones, small wall stones, solid masonry, edging, floor coverings and stone facades. Another pillar is the disposal of mineral construction waste at Type A and Type B landfills, including consulting, planning and material logistics with dump trucks, crane trucks and general cargo transport. The office building completed in 2017 to Minergie standard and the renaturation of the extraction areas reflect the company's ecological commitment.
