Piano Manufactory in Bayreuth
Steingraeber & Söhne is a piano manufactory based in Bayreuth that has been producing pianos and grand pianos since 1852. The family business was founded in 1820 near Weimar and to this day manufactures exclusively in Bayreuth. At the heart of its work is the artisanal craft according to the rules of classical piano making: the finest natural materials, above all high-quality woods, are predominantly worked by hand into individual instruments; machines serve only in a supporting role. The product range includes concert grand pianos (Model E), semi-concert and chamber concert grand pianos (D-232, C-212), salon grand pianos (B-192, A-170) as well as upright pianos (138 K, 130 T, 122 T), complemented by custom design and special editions to customer specifications. In addition, the company offers repairs, restorations and a comprehensive piano service. With the concept “Transducer in the Soundboard”, Steingraeber was awarded the Future Prize of the Chamber of Crafts for Upper Franconia in 2018. The instruments are distributed via specialist dealers worldwide and are aimed at professional pianists, concert stages and music lovers.
