STR Elektronik Josef Schlechtinger GmbH in Wenden develops and manufactures systems for intelligent building communication: audio and video intercom systems based on the two-wire Qwikbus bus system as well as network-based IP intercom systems, outdoor and indoor stations, letterbox systems in various mounting types, Intellibox parcel stations, access control and information systems such as sign systems. Manufacturing takes place in the company's own plant, complemented by a testing laboratory and an in-house labeling studio with milling engraving, laser engraving, CNC engraving, screen printing and film labeling. Materials used include stainless steel, aluminium, solid brass and titanium brass, architectural bronze, real glass, acrylic glass, as well as galvanized and powder-coated steel sheet with RAL color coating; surface processes include anodizing and PVD coating. Systems are individually planned and manufactured to millimeter precision according to customer specifications. The installed systems are in use worldwide, including in desert regions and in high-rise buildings in Manhattan; the company also provides spare parts and remote maintenance for legacy systems.
