About Strain Systems
Strain Systems Inc. was founded in 2008 under the name Kistler Sensors to market the patented StrainCell sensor invented by Walter Kistler. The company offers solutions for inventory monitoring and management in silos and storage tanks, including silo weighing (Silo Weighing), silo level measurement (Silo Level), and the mysilo.info service. The StrainCell sensor is mounted to the outer surface of the silo with a single screw (non-intrusive, bolt-on) and compensates temperature-induced measurement errors through two-axis mechanical compensation of thermal expansion and contraction. The Strain Systems SOLO combines StrainCell sensors with intelligent electronics to create a turnkey weighing and level solution, available locally or worldwide via 4-20 mA, 0–10 V, RS-485, USB and Ethernet. Applications include cement powder, plastics and resins, gypsum, iron ore, asphalt, limestone powder and granulate, and flour, with installations in the USA, Guatemala, Mexico, Canada and India. The company is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, USA.

Quality & Performance
In controlled tests at ambient temperatures from 18 °C to 42 °C, the StrainCell showed measurement errors within 2 %, while comparison sensors exhibited deviations of up to 30 % due to temperature effects. The systems achieve accuracy of better than 1 % on legless silos and better than 3 % on skirted silos.
