About us
Strandkorbfabrik Heringsdorf GmbH manufactures roofed wicker beach chairs at its site in the seaside resort of Heringsdorf on the island of Usedom. The tradition of beach chair manufacturing dates back to 1933, more than 85 years of it in Heringsdorf. Production is carried out entirely in traditional craftsmanship: woodworking, wickerwork, and upholstery and sewing are all performed in the company's own workshop. The company produces beach chairs in North Sea style (full recliners) and Baltic Sea style (semi-recliners) as one-seater, two-seater, and two-seater XL models, including custom-made items such as dog beach chairs, children's beach chairs, and catering beach chairs. Customers select shape, wickerwork, wood type, and upholstery fabric via an online configurator. The woods used are domestic pine (durability approx. 20 years) and teak (approx. 30 years), with wickerwork made of UV-stable PVC and PE, and upholstery fabrics made of 100 % polyacrylic. In addition, furniture and small basket and wicker goods made of rattan, synthetic wicker, aluminium, stainless steel, and teak are offered. The company provides maintenance, spare parts supply, and full refurbishment of beach chairs, operates an online shop with factory outlet, and ships nationwide directly without intermediaries.
