About Studer Cables
Studer Cables AG is a Swiss cable manufacturer headquartered in Däniken SO that has been producing precision cables and wires for energy and data transmission since 1939. The product range includes power network cables, solar cables (module and string cables), installation cables, rail vehicle cables as well as connecting and core wires. Core competencies include the production of hffr compounds (halogen-free, flame-retardant plastics) and the radiation cross-linking of plastics with fast electrons (beta rays) in its own irradiation center, which makes the insulation thermally and chemically resistant. Beyond production, the company offers engineering and specialist planning with 3D cable management software, assembly, installation and testing of electrical systems as well as fire technology investigations in its own test laboratory. In partnership with HARTING, pre-configured, ready-to-connect connectivity solutions with connectors are created. Reference projects include the Gotthard railway tunnel and the Marina Bay Sands Resort. Since 2022, the company with more than 400 employees from 32 countries has belonged to the Harting entrepreneurial family and supplies customers worldwide.

Materials and Processes
hffr Compounds
Halogen-free, flame-retardant plastic compounds produced in-house as a core competency for safe cable insulation.
Radiation cross-linking (electron irradiation)
Cross-linking of plastics with fast electrons in the company's own irradiation center makes cables, heat-shrink tubing and technical parts elastic, chemical-resistant and non-meltable.
Plastics/Polymers (radiation-cross-linkable)
Continuous stock such as heat-shrink tubing, cables, heating pipes as well as housing parts, seals and semiconductors are treated.
