About Studio MachArt
Studio MachArt has been run since 1985 by freelance artist Heike Künkler-Herok and is a sole proprietorship in Gau-Bischofsheim near Mainz. In the atelier with a workshop garden and south-facing terrace, ceramic works are created such as garden ceramics, functional ceramics as well as artistic objects and sculptures made of clay; in addition, the artist maintains the fields of painting, literature and jewelry. Ceramic production includes hand-building techniques, throwing on the potter's wheel as well as glaze firing and an own glaze service; workpieces are fired and glazed according to consumption. In addition to own work series and exhibitions, the studio carries out commissioned work – including a ceramic rooster as a presentation object at the Walter-Dirks-Prize 2025 in Frankfurt Cathedral. In addition, pottery courses for children and adults, group workshops and studio visits are offered; opening hours are Fridays 15 to 18 o'clock as well as by appointment.
