Workshop
Sturm-Larondelle is a workshop in Berlin specializing in the restoration of antique furniture and wooden objects. Since 1978, furniture of all styles has been treated there – from 15th-century choir stalls and Empire seating groups with fire-gilt bronzes to Art-déco chairs. The range of services includes veneer, marquetry and intarsia work, joinery and structural work as well as solid wood repairs, sculptural, woodturning and carving work, tortoiseshell and Boulle work, surface treatment with staining, waxing and patinating, and shellac hand polishing. Traditional materials and methods such as hide and bone glues are used. Every restoration is documented. Clients include heritage conservation authorities, museums and collections, the art trade and private clients. Since summer 2015 the workshop has been located in the historic coach house of Domäne Dahlem in Berlin-Dahlem.
