About sunpor

SUNPOR Kunststoff GmbH is an Austrian manufacturer of expandable polystyrene (EPS) headquartered in St. Pölten. Founded in 1986 by the Norwegian O.N. Sunde Group, the company produces EPS granulates for building insulation, the packaging industry and sports helmets. Production takes place at two integrated sites in St. Pölten-Stattersdorf and St. Pölten-Radlberg and combines the processes of polymerisation and extrusion, enabling a broad range of granulate types up to and including the processing of EPS recyclates. With an annual capacity of 260,000 tonnes and an export share of around 90 percent, sunpor is one of the three largest EPS manufacturers in Europe. Around the year 2000, the company played the leading role in developing grey EPS (Lambdapor) with graphite particles for infrared-reflective insulation improvement. In-house research and development, application consulting, and recycling and upcycling processes (including CreaSolv with the Fraunhofer Institute) round out the value chain.
