About superwind
superwind GmbH develops and manufactures in Brühl near Cologne professional small wind turbines with 350 W and 1250 W rated power for maritime use and industrial applications in harsh environments. At the core of the SW 350-II, SW 353 and SW 1250 turbines is the patented, purely mechanical rotor blade pitch control, which automatically regulates power above the rated wind speed, enabling safe operation up to 35 m/s and a survival wind speed of 50 m/s. The generators are designed as brushless permanent magnet synchronous machines with neodymium magnets. For corrosion protection in maritime environments, seawater-resistant aluminium (anodized and powder-coated), stainless steel including V4A (1.4404) and UV-resistant plastics are used. The rotor blades of the industrial models are manufactured as hand-laminated GFRP-CFRP composites. All generator units, rotor hubs and rotor blades undergo functional and load tests on special test benches; each machine receives a unique serial number and is fully documented. In addition, the company offers charge controllers of the SCR series, stop switches and mast mounting kits as well as technical support, repair and maintenance.

Materials and Processes
Seawater-resistant aluminium
Used for generator and structural components and additionally anodized and powder-coated to achieve corrosion protection in maritime environments.
Stainless steel V4A / AISI 316
Used for mast mounting kits and ball bearings, ensuring seawater resistance.
GFRP-CFRP composite (hand-laminated)
Material of the hand-laminated rotor blades on SW 353 and SW 1250, increasing robustness and control characteristics.
CFRP (rotor blade SW 350-II)
Used for the rotor blades of the SW 350-II, which were acoustically optimized in the wind tunnel.
UV-resistant plastic
Together with the robust design, ensures the longevity of the devices.
Neodymium magnets
Excitation of the brushless, 3-phase permanent magnet generators with high efficiency across the entire power range.
